This is a personal health unit that contains interdisciplinary activities and collaborative research projects. The three modules are designed according to the California State Standards in Biology for the following topics: organic macromolecules and nutrients (nutrition), bacteria and viruses (Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections), and neurobiology (drug abuse). This unit is intended to introduce students to scientific articles and Internet-based research while using SDAIE strategies and real world applications.
