Our 2017 workshop (March 17th) will be interesting for science teachers of all disciplines. The morning activities will feature curriculum presentations and activities led by the following MRL RET teacher-interns along with other explorations of resources and materials in STEM education.

Afternoon speakers include materials scientist Samantha Daly, associate professor UCSB Mechanical Engineering Dept., Metals with Memory: Minimally-Invasive Biomedical Devices, and Tyler Susko, Lecturer UCSB Mechanical Engineering Dept. "Project Based Learning in the UCSB Engineering Dept.".
We will explore hands on activities from Science Friday, the Gevirtz School of Education, and the Chris Bates Group of Materials Science. New MRL facilities will be introduced as well.

The MRL holds a day-long workshop for science teachers every March on a variety of topics related to general science, chemistry, biology, physics and materials science. Our workshops target upper elementary teachers, junior high teachers as well as secondary science teachers.
