Graduate Students for Diversity in Science

Funded by the Dow Chemical Company through its Aid to Education grants, the GSDS is a highly successful student run organization that focuses on promoting diversity through a quarterly seminar series, a successful outreach program and a range of professional development activities.

New Venture Competition

The NVC is an entrepreneurial program for UCSB innovators that provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about creating new ventures. Dow sponsors a number of prizes that have helped recent winners to establish successful businesses and launch new materials-based products.

Dow Travel Grants

The DowMI awards a number of Travel Fellowships to both graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. These awards are intended to support activities outside the scope of our existing programs, such as travel by researchers to industrial laboratories and conferences.

Dow Discovery Fellowships

As part of the five-year award to found the DowMI, Dow generously included a $2 million endowment that will provide ongoing funding to support the research of outstanding Chemical Engineering graduate students.
