Research Internships in Science and Engineering:
The Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) at the University of California Santa Barbara are seeking undergraduate science and engineering majors who are interested in pursuing a research experience.

The RISE program sponsors research internships on a quarter-by-quarter basis for UCSB undergraduate science and engineering students. Interns choose between two award levels, $500/quarter and $1000/quarter, based on the hours committed to research (between 50- 100 hours/quarter).

In addition to their research responsibilities, interns participate in professional development workshops, give presentations based on their work and write a final report at the end of the term.

Up to 10 internship awards will be given each quarter for any area of science or engineering. However, priority in awarding these internships will go toward projects that fall within the research scope of MRL.

Applicants will need to identify a research sponsor before they apply for these internships. rise [at] mrl [dot] ucsb [dot] edu (Our intern coordinator) can provide assistance and guidance for students. Please contact her to discuss your interests and devise a strategy for finding a research project.
