Cooperative International Science and Engineering Internships:
The Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) seeks undergraduate science and engineering majors who are interested in pursuing a research experience overseas. This internship program sends science and engineering undergraduates from U C campuses to international partner institutions for a 10-week summer research experience. Internships are available at research centers in Dublin-Ireland, Eindhoven-Netherlands, and Goethenborg-Sweden. Interns will gain first-hand experience in scientific investigation in a dynamic, collaborative research environment and enjoy the overall experience of being abroad. Participating students will be matched individually with designated mentors, working in collaboration throughout the program. We encourage applications from students interested in interdisciplinary materials science, with backgrounds in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Materials or Physics. Preference will be given to applicants with prior research experience, including UCSB internship programs.
Internship Awards:
The Summer CISEI program will run from June 17 to August 24, 2024.
Internship dates may differ depending on location of institution.
