Research Project Title:

TeraHertz Circular Dichroism and Protein Folding

Research Project Description:

The first experimental objective was to collect folding rates of FYN-SH3 in the presence of varied concentrations of ionic salts (KBr, NaCl). Folding rate data was collected using a Stop flow Fluorimeter. The second experimental objectives was to design and construct a Tera Hertz circular dichroism (THz CD) spectrometer and then measure the THz CD signal in a macroscopic system of compression springs.

Curriculum Project Title:

Pilot Study

Curriculum Project Description:

My project is a pilot study designed to facilitate dynamic asynchronous interactions between learners, educators and researchers. Information technology will be used to create a virtual environment to encourage knowledge transfer between all participants. I expect this project will enhance student learning and modelling of the nature of science. Students will be encourage to assimilate new information using concept mapping tools or other approaches. Students will construct and share gained knowledge from the new information received through a series of multi-media intensive dialogues.
