Research Project Title:

Binding Experiment of Microtubule and Tau Proteins

Research Project Description:

The primary focus of my experiment was understanding Neural Tau and Microtubule interactions specifically, for purposely elucidating the role of Neural Fibral Tangles (NFT’s) in Alzheimer’s patients and other related dementia’s. At this point we will answer to the question “What % of tau protein binds to MTs?” at physiological state. There are 6 isoforms of tau (3RL,3RM,3RS,4RS,4RM,4RL), and the first one we characterized is the 3RS using polymerization and uv/ vis procedures.
