Project Information
A sustainable home built with green building materials and filled with natural sunlight, can strike that sweet balance between comfort and style while placing a minimal impact on the environment. In the following extension projects, secondary students in Architecture I and/or Science (grades 6-11) are challenged to conduct research and then design and build 3-D models demonstrating an element of sustainable building practices. These practices address both design elements and use of construction materials. Student models are shared with an authentic audience during the community’s Super Saturday Sustainability Showcase and incorporated into classroom lessons on sustainability delivered by the students themselves.
