Undergraduate Interns Present at National Conferences

Congratulations to all our undergraduates who traveled to professional meetings this fall! A total of 17 students from the CAMP, RISE and CISEI programs attended and presented at the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, Society for the Advancements of Chicano and Native American Scientists, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Out in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics, Southern California Conference on Undergraduate Research, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Western Society of Naturalists meetings. 

Special congratulations to Stephanie Landeros (CAMP, Biological Sciences, Lewis group), who received the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) award at the national SACNAS meeting for her poster “Effects of Human Retinal Progenitor Cells on Glial and Immune Cell Reactivity in the RCS Rat,” and to Michael Abramovitch (RISE, Chemical Engineering, Helgeson group), whose poster "Designing Poly(Ethylene Glycol) Diacrylate Hydrogels with Controlled pH-Responsive Swelling" won second place in the Materials Engineering and Sciences VII category of the Undergraduate Student Poster Competition at AIChE.
