Biography: Colton attended the University of Texas where he got B.S. degrees in both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on Materials Engineering. During his time there, he worked in the Freeman group making and testing polymer membranes for applications in gas separations. He also worked as a mentor in the Freshman Research Initiative where he helped freshman get an introduction to research. Colton is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Materials under the guidance of Professors Craig J. Hawker and Christopher M. Bates.

Research: Colton works on surface-tethered polymer brushes to tune interfacial properties, and he works on the processing of self-immolating polymers to alter the decomposition kinetics.
