Long-term Rentals

Will you be staying for an extended period of time? These resources can help guide you in the right direction to find your ideal housing.

Please note that long-term on-campus housing is only available to enrolled students and not available to postdoctoral employees or visiting scholars and faculty. If you are not an enrolled student and will be here for an extended stay, please consider the options below.

Extended stay hotels

Online Resources (most beneficial for longer stays)

  • Craigslist – This is an online resource for classified ads. Here you can find all sorts of housing options from single apartments to furnished apartments to roommates. Looking for a bicycle, furniture or other housing goods? You can find it here as well.
  • Airbnb – This is a “vacation rental” website that also includes private, furnished rooms in apartments and homes at reasonable rates. Please note that many of these rentals do not allow guests.—CA
  • SabbaticalHomes – This online resource is similar to Airbnb and other vacation rental websites, but targeted towards the academic community.

University Listservs – The following UCSB listservs are often used for advertisements for shared housing.
