The MRL wishes to congratulate Hawker Group member Christian Pester for receiving a first place in the 2016 MRS Science as Art Award and also for receiving a third place at the 2016 CSEP Art of Science Competition at UCSB.  Christian won for his optical micrograph image of a substrate patterned with surface-tethered hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymer brushes.  You can see his image on the left.  Congratulations Christian!
