On May 20, 2013 the  MRL was honored to co-host a Special Seminar presented by the 2012 ACS President Bassam Z. Shakhashiri, Professor of Chemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison on "Advancing Graduate Education in the Chemical Sciences".  The well-attended, lively and very interactive event was co-hosted by CenSURF, the Materials Research Laboratory, the Departments of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Materials, and Chemical Engineering, and the UCSB Graduate Division.  For more information please see: www.acs.org/graduatecommission
